Litigation is a strength of our practice. We have successfully litigated business issues before federal and state courts both at the trial and appellate levels. By way of example, on behalf of a commercial real estate client, we created a new law in Connecticut when our Supreme Court ruled that a landlord’s breach of an option contract estopped it from evicting our client for non-payment of rent. Similarly, the Connecticut Appellant Court affirmed a judgment we obtained at trial permitting our client to recover damages for the breach of an undisclosed restrictive covenant.

When appropriate, we also take full advantage of arbitration, mediation and other alternate dispute resolution options. For more information about alternate dispute resolution Click Here.

We represent our clients in a variety of litigation matters:

  • employment discrimination and wrongful discharge claims
  • covenants not to compete or solicit
  • disputes involving trade secrets and confidential information
  • fiduciary disputes arising out of Trust & Estate administration
  • business fraud, unfair trade practice actions, and tortuous interference claims
  • commercial “divorce” actions among partners and shareholders of closely held corporations
  • complex business and commercial litigation involving licensing and proprietary matters
  • construction contract disputes, general commercial contract disputes; and
  • real estate litigation, including breach of sales contracts, development agreements, commercial leases, property line disputes and title insurance matters
